Senior Instrumentation Technician/Project Engineer

Description:Responsible for quality control and technical issues on a given project or assignment. Provide technical, design j, quality control and managerial support to Project Managers in running projects. Supervises field crews for installation and maintenance tasks. Provide consistent and sufficient information and training to the field crew. Administratively report to the Project Manager.
Duties:Ensure that all Soldata and OSHA safety regulations are met and enforced; responsible for safety on site.

Responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and removal (eventually) of the instruments constituting scope of work.

Prepares, reviews, and tracks change orders, extra work orders and back-charge documentation with Project Manager.

Qualifications:Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Electronics Engineering, or related degree. Experience (Minimum 5 years) with monitoring equipment, techniques, specifications, data logging equipment, electricity and electronics, surveying, design, or geotechnical work.

Technical Skills:

Enthusiastic and persistent regarding safety, quality, and ethical dealings on the jobsite. Knowledge in geotechnical and surveying instrumentation (designs, installation, commissioning, maintenance). Knowledge in programming, electronics, electricity and signal analysis.

Mental Requirements- rational decision making ability, attention to detail, makes final decisions and assumes accountability for them, demonstrates the ability to separate the people from the problem or situation, ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibility as needed.

Physical Requirements-reaching high and low, stooping, and bending, lifting/carrying/moving up to 100 pounds, able to concentrate at a high degree in a busy and noisy construction environment, able to work in all types of weather.
